Prez Draupadi Murmu attends convocation in GJU Hisar; distributes digital degrees

President Draupadi Murmu has reached the convocation ceremony of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJU) in Hisar on Monday.

Hisar: President Draupadi Murmu has reached the convocation ceremony of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJU) in Hisar on Monday. She will distribute degrees to the students. After giving degrees and medals in about 1 hour, she will have lunch at the VIP guest house of GJU.

After this, she will also attend the program of Prajapati Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya at 3.20 pm. Along with the President, many VIPs including Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister Ranbir Singh Gangwa, RSS National Executive member Indresh Kumar are present in the ceremony. Indresh Kumar will be given the title of Manak. 26 DSPs and about 2 thousand policemen have been deployed under the leadership of 10 IPS officers for the security of the President.

GJU is the first university in the state to give digital degrees. This digital degree can also be verified by any government or non-government institution in any corner of the world.

Today 2090 degrees will be awarded. 561 PHD degrees will be awarded. 564 students will be awarded university medals. 60 percent of students studying at GJU are from rural background. 60 percent of PHD researchers are girls. 70 percent of those receiving university medals are also girls.

March 10: The President will attend the convocation of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar. On the same day, she will launch a state-level campaign titled ‘Spiritual Education for Holistic Well-being’ on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Brahma Kumaris, Hisar.

March 11: The President will attend the convocation of the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda and AIIMS, Bathinda. The same evening, the President will attend a civic reception in Mohali hosted by the Punjab Government in her honour.

March 12: The President will attend the convocation of Punjab University in Chandigarh.
