Testing labs to be set up in all medical blocks across Himachal Pradesh

Keeping in mind the health of the people of Himachal Pradesh, separate testing labs will now be set up in all medical blocks across the state to test germs and bacteria. Public health labs will be set up in all blocks with the cooperation of the central and state governments. It will have modern machines as well as public health specialists, who will immediately alert on the spread of diseases. The special thing is that seasonal diseases will be monitored in the testing lab being set up separately.

During the monitoring of diseases, it will be ascertained whether any virus and bacteria are spreading rapidly. If the virus or bacteria is spreading, its report will be immediately sent to the Union Health Ministry. This will enable immediate prevention of diseases. Till now, this type of lab is being set up at the district level. But now this lab will be set up at the block level. Public health labs will work under the National Disease Control.

The labs currently established in the hospitals will also continue to function at par with public health labs. An amount of Rs 50 lakh will be spent by the government in the first phase for the construction of public health labs. Whereas the amount will be released at different levels considering the facilities. This lab will also provide facilities to the people 24 hours a day and the report will also be available in a few hours. Many times it happens that after many diseases spread, there is difficulty in detecting them. Because routine tests are done in the currently established lab. In such a situation, if a new disease comes, the sample has to be sent to another lab. But now this will not happen.

There will be 90 types of tests

There will be 90 types of tests related to communicable diseases including dengue, malaria, filariasis, chikungunya, scrub typhus, encephalitis, diarrhea, TB. It will be monitored. Although at present all types of tests are being done in government and Krasna labs established in hospitals. But when the disease spreads rapidly, it affects other tests. To avoid problems, a separate lab is being established.
