Patwari-Kanungo strike will not end now, demand raised to withdraw state cadre notification in the meeting

The Mahasangh has thanked the Chief Minister for the assurance.

The ongoing Patwari-Kanungo strike in Himachal Pradesh will not end anytime soon. After talking to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu at Gaggal Airport on Sunday, the Joint Patwari-Kanungo Union held a virtual meeting. State President of Patwari-Kanungo Mahasangh Satish Chaudhary said that it has been decided unanimously in the meeting that the strike will continue until the government issues a letter to cancel the notification of the state cadre of Patwari-Kanungo and invites the Mahasangh for talks. The Mahasangh has thanked the Chief Minister for the assurance.

The day the government issues a letter to nullify the notification of the state cadre, all the Patwari-Kanungo of the state will return to work on the same day. Senior Vice President of the Federation Ajay Kapoor, State Press Secretary Yuvraj Negi, Ravindra Sharma from Una, Vichitra Singh from Kangra, Daljit from Chamba, Meena Kalia from Hamirpur, Suneet Dutt Joshi from Bilaspur, Rishabh Dogra from Kullu, Sanjeev from Lahaul-Spiti, Naveen Negi from Kinnaur, Chaman Thakur from Shimla, Amandeep from Solan, Rajneesh Sharma from Sirmaur, Vishambar Thakur from Mandi joined the virtual meeting.

The Federation has informed the Chief Minister’s Office, Revenue Minister, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue, Director Land Records, all Sub-Divisional Magistrates about its decision.

Chief Minister Sukhu had assured the Patwari-Kanungo Federation on Saturday that there will be no anomaly in their promotion when the state cadre is implemented. Patwari-Kanungo will get full promotion benefits. The notification of the state cadre will not be withdrawn as this system is being implemented in other departments as well. Earlier, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi had issued directions to officers to take action against the striking Patwaris and Kanungos.
