Amritsar police busts major drug smuggling attempt; Arrests 4 including juvenile

In a significant breakthrough against trans-border drug smuggling, the Commissionerate police in Amritsar has apprehended 4 individuals, including a juvenile, who were attempting to smuggle drugs across the Ferozepur sector.

The juvenile was reportedly using boats to cross the Sutlej River to retrieve consignments from areas near the international border fencing.

The Police made a substancial recovery during the operation, seizing 4 kg of heroin, Rs. 20,000 in drug money and three motorcycles used for transportation.

FIRs have been registered under the Narco Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at Police Stations Chheharta and Cantonment. The Punjab police have vowed to continue their relentless efoorts in dismantling drug cartels and working towards a drug free Punjab.

this operation highlights the ongoing commitment of the state police to curtail drug trafficking and safeguard the region from the menace of narcotics.
