Uttarakhand: Authorities in Uttarakhand have connected four cities with heli service under the Udan scheme, officials said.
Earlier on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off heli services for the four cities. These services include Dehradun to Nainital, Bageshwar and Mussoorie heli service. While Haldwani to Bageshwar heli service was also launched.
During this, the Chief Minister said that four heli services will give impetus to tourism and economic development in the state. Along with this, better connectivity will bring positive changes in the lives of local people.
He said that Bageshwar, Nainital and Mussoorie are also important from cultural and spiritual point of view. The natural beauty, serene valleys, lush green mountains, historical temples and rich culture of these areas attract tourists from all over the country and the world. With the start of the heli service, now tourists enjoying the natural and cultural heritage of these areas will be able to reach here even more easily.
The service will operate seven days a week
The heli service from Dehradun to Mussoorie is being operated under the Uttarakhand Air Connectivity Scheme. While the remaining three heli services are being operated under the Central Government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme. A five-seater helicopter will provide services between Dehradun-Mussoorie, while a seven-seater helicopter will provide services for other places. The heli service from Dehradun to Bageshwar, Nainital and Haldwani to Bageshwar will operate twice a day, seven days a week. While the Mussoorie-Dehradun heli service will operate once a day in the first month.
