Chandigarh: A yellow alert has been issued for rain in Punjab today as well. 1.4 mm of rain was recorded in the last 24 hours. After light clouds throughout the day, the temperature has dropped by 4.8 degrees Celsius. This is 2.8 degrees Celsius below normal.
The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 26.2 degrees Celsius, which was in Abohar. According to the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert has been issued for rain in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar in Punjab today.
There may be rain with thunder in these cities. There are chances of rain in other districts as well, but no rain alert has been issued there. According to the Meteorological Department, the fall in temperature that was seen for a few days will now increase again. There is no alert regarding rain for the next one week. Due to which the temperature will now rise and the heat will increase.
Temperature likely to rise after 48 hours
According to the Meteorological Department, the western disturbance will now start slowing down. Due to which the rain activities in the state will also stop. Apart from Punjab, there are chances of rain in Himachal and Haryana today. But from tomorrow, no alert has been issued regarding neither rain nor winds in North India.
The effect of the rain that happened in the last few days will start reducing in 48 hours. After which the temperature will start increasing in the plains of Punjab as well. It is estimated that the temperature may increase by 2 to 4 degrees after 48 hours. However, there is no forecast of rain for the next one week.
