In Panipat, Haryana, a man burnt his second wife alive after beating her. The husband was also supported by his first wife and brother. To show the accident, he told the in-laws that a fire broke out while making tea. The incident came to light when the victim told her sister about the incident during treatment at Rohtak PGI. The woman died during treatment on March 16.
Now a CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, in which the woman’s husband, his first wife and brother are seen beating and setting fire by sprinkling kerosene oil. On the complaint of the deceased’s sister, the police have registered a case of murder against the three.
In a complaint to the Chandni Bagh police station, Gomti told that she is a resident of Rasulabad in Kanpur. They were 3 sisters. In which the middle sister was Gauri Priya. She was married to Akash, a resident of Jalapur village in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh in the year 2022. Akash and Gauri Priya were living in Panipat for the last 2 months. Both of them worked as labourers in the factory.
On 9th March, Akash informed that your sister Gauri Priya got burnt while making tea on a gas cylinder in the room above the factory. She is admitted in Rohtak PGI for treatment.
On getting the information, she reached PGI to meet her sister. On the evening of 9th March, Gauri Priya told him that your brother-in-law Akash, along with his first wife Sikki (resident of Kannauj in UP) and his brother Ravi, tried to kill her.
Akash poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. They wanted to kill her. Gauri Priya died on 16th March during treatment.
