Two smugglers arrested with 13 kg of poppy husk, 220 intoxicant pills in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: Police in Ludhiana, on Sunday claimed to have seized 13 kg of poppy husk and 220 intoxicant pills and arrested two drug smugglers from different places in Ludhiana. 

Official sources said that a case has been registered against the accused in this regard at Jodha police station and Sudhar police station.

The accused have been identified as Kamaljit Singh resident of village Khandoor and Happy Singh resident of village Mohi. The police presented the accused in the court and started further interrogation. Incharge of Jodha police station Davinder Singh said that he was present in village Narangwal during checking with the police party.

During this time, they got information that the accused has been involved in drug smuggling business for a long time, due to which many cases have been registered against the accused earlier. The accused has come out on bail some time ago but is still involved in drug smuggling business. At present, the accused is standing near the drain bridge and waiting for customers to sell drugs.

As soon as the police received the information, they raided the spot and arrested the accused Kamaljit Singh. During the search, the police recovered 220 intoxicant pills and registered a case at the Sudhar police station. The investigating officer said that 5 cases have already been registered against the accused.
