New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Jaiswal has labeled West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as “anti-Indian,” accusing her of traveling abroad with an “anti-India agenda,” similar to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Jaiswal asserted that Banerjee’s politics revolve around facilitating the entry of Bangladeshis into West Bengal and granting them Aadhar cards, further emphasizing her alleged anti-Indian stance.

In a related incident, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Saugata Roy condemned the actions of a group that protested against Banerjee at Oxford University’s Kellogg College, where she was invited to speak. Roy criticized the protesters, associated with the Students Federation of India in the UK (SFI UK), claiming their actions were aimed at seeking “publicity.”

“This behavior is completely unacceptable,” Roy stated. “Mamata Banerjee is an elected Chief Minister, and it is up to the university authorities and police in England to manage this scenario.”

The protests occurred after Banerjee was questioned about the RG Kar College case and post-poll violence in West Bengal. BJP leader Amit Malviya shared a video of the confrontation, claiming that members of the Bengali Hindu community confronted Banerjee, accusing her of crimes against women and widespread corruption.

Malviya branded Banerjee a “disgrace” to West Bengal, stating that the Hindu Bengali diaspora seeks her removal from office due to her destructive leadership. In footage from the event, Banerjee faced interruptions and was asked about her stance on Hindus in Bengal, to which she responded that she represents all communities. However, she was met with “Go back” slogans from some attendees.

During the confrontation, she addressed one of the protestors as “brother” and urged him not to politicize the issue. In a video shared by the TMC, Banerjee maintained her composure, encouraging her supporters to continue believing in her.

The Students Federation of India in the UK (SFI UK) claimed responsibility for the protests, stating, “We opposed her blatant lies by asking for evidence of the social development she claims. Instead of allowing us to express our views peacefully, the police were called,” in opposition to Banerjee’s party’s governance in West Bengal.
