Gurugram: Drivers will now have to pay more toll at Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurugram district of Haryana. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has released the new rate list of toll tax. Toll tax for heavy vehicles has been increased by Rs 5.
This increase will be applicable on a single journey. This will make the journey of big vehicle drivers expensive. 60 to 70 thousand vehicles pass through Kherki Daula toll every day. Most of the vehicles travel between Manesar and Delhi or Gurgaon.
Different rules at Kherki Daula toll
Unlike other toll plazas, the 24-hour rule does not work at Kherki Daula toll. If you leave from here after paying Rs 85 and return within 24 hours, you will have to pay Rs 85 again. Whereas concessions are given at other places. That means here tax is charged on the basis of single journey.
The fee for the car was kept at Rs 85 only
People have been demanding to shift this toll tax for a long time. Especially those living in the societies of New Gurugram have to get stuck in traffic jams every day and have to pay Rs 170 as toll for commuting. Recently, the Accounts Committee of Parliament also inspected here. However, in the latest rate list, the toll for personal cars has not been increased. As before, cars will have to pay only Rs 85.
Toll rates increased as per rules
Akash Padhi, Project Director of Delhi-Jaipur Highway, said that this increase has been made as per the rules on the instructions of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. This increase in toll tax will come into effect from midnight of March 31.
