Breaking- 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar: Tremors felt till Bangkok; Flyover collapsed

An earthquake of magnitude 7.7 struck Myanmar on Friday. According to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers and its epicenter was located near the city of Mandalay.

The impact of the earthquake was felt till Thailand’s capital Bangkok. Here an under-construction flyover collapsed. At the same time, hundreds of people came out of the buildings in panic. No information has been received yet about the damage caused by this earthquake in Myanmar.

Buildings destroyed in Myanmar’s Mandalay city

Some parts of the historic royal palace Mandalay Palace in Myanmar have been damaged. At the same time, a bridge in Sagaing Township of Sagaing region was completely destroyed in the earthquake. Apart from the capital Naypyitaw, strong tremors of the earthquake were felt in Kyaukse, Pyin Oo Lwin and Shwebo. These cities have a population of more than 50 thousand.
