PM Modi to unveil multiple projects worth Rs 33,700 crore in Chhattisgarh

During his day-long trip, PM Modi will first travel to Maharashtra before arriving in Bilaspur in the afternoon. A major highlight will be the NTPC’s Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III, which is Chhattisgarh’s first Super Critical Thermal Power Project, featuring a cutting-edge investment of Rs 9,790 crore and utilizing advanced Ultra-Supercritical Technology for enhanced power generation efficiency.

Additionally, he will commence work on the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited’s (CSPGCL) First Super Critical Thermal Power Project (2X660MW), valued at over Rs 15,800 crore. The Prime Minister will also dedicate three power transmission projects under the Western Region Expansion Scheme (WRES), totaling more than Rs 560 crore.

In alignment with India’s net-zero emission goals, PM Modi will lay the foundation for the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) in the districts of Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur, and Surguja. This project, costing over Rs 1,285 crore, involves more than 200 km of high-pressure pipeline and 800 km of medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) pipeline, along with multiple compressed natural gas (CNG) dispensing outlets.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will initiate the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) Visakh-Raipur Pipeline (VRPL) Project, which spans 540 km and is valued at over Rs 2,210 crore, capable of transporting petrol, diesel, and kerosene.

Rail connectivity will be enhanced with the launch of seven new railway projects covering 108 km and the completion of three projects across 111 km, collectively valued at Rs 2,690 crore. PM Modi will also flag off a MEMU train service in the Abhanpur-Raipur section and celebrate the full electrification of Chhattisgarh’s rail network.

In terms of road infrastructure, he will dedicate the upgraded Jhalmala to Sherpar section of NH-930 (37 km) and the Ambikapur-Pathalgaon section of NH-43 (75 km) to two-laning with paved shoulders. The foundation stone will also be laid for the two-laning upgrade of the 47.5 km Kondagaon-Narayanpur section of NH-130D. These road projects, worth over Rs 1,270 crore, aim to improve access to tribal and industrial areas, fostering comprehensive regional development.

Education initiatives will feature the launch of 130 PM SHRI Schools across 29 districts and the establishment of the Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Raipur, aimed at modernizing education through upgraded infrastructure and data-driven monitoring. Moreover, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin, PM Modi will preside over Griha Pravesh ceremonies for three lakh beneficiaries, highlighting efforts to improve housing and living standards for rural households in Chhattisgarh.
