Two held with five foreign pistols in Amritsar: Police

Amritsar: Police in Amritsar on Friday have busted a big arms smuggling network linked to Pakistani smugglers, officials said.  Official sources said that under this operation, two smugglers Fateh Singh and Gurpreet Singh, residents of Dhalla Tarn Taran, have been arrested.  The arrested accused had direct contact with smugglers based in Pakistan. They were smuggling.

Amritsar: Police in Amritsar on Friday have busted a big arms smuggling network linked to Pakistani smugglers, officials said. 

Official sources said that under this operation, two smugglers Fateh Singh and Gurpreet Singh, residents of Dhalla Tarn Taran, have been arrested. 

The arrested accused had direct contact with smugglers based in Pakistan. They were smuggling weapons into Punjab through drones and delivering these weapons to henchmen associated with foreign gangsters Lakhbir Landa and Satta Naushera. 

According to the police, this network was operating with the intention of promoting organized crime and spreading terror in the state.

During the arrest, the police seized five pistols from the accused, which included- 2 PX5 30 bore pistols and 3 Star Mark 30 bore pistols.

FIR registered, investigation underway.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that action against organized crime and cross-border smuggling will continue. This operation is being considered a major success of the Punjab Police.
