New Delhi: In a landmark move towards greater transparency, judges of the Supreme Court have decided to make their asset declarations public. The declarations will also be uploaded on the court’s official website to enhance trust in the judiciary.
The decision was taken on April 1 during a full-court meeting. During the meeting, the judges agreed to disclose their assets to the Chief Justice of Indian and make them accessible to the public.
Notably, all Supreme Court judges have already submitted their asset declarations. However, these details had not been publicly available until now. The initiative marks a significant shift towards judicial accountability and openness.
