Himachal Pradesh facing early heatwaves as temperature soar; heatwave alert for Mandi-Kullu

On the other hand, the maximum temperature of Kalpa in Kinnaur has reached 23.4 degrees Celsius, 8 degrees more than normal. The record temperature of April here is 25.2 degrees Celsius of 15 April 2007. But this time the temperature has started breaking records in the first week itself.

On the other hand, the temperature of Una has also reached 36.4 degrees Celsius after a rise of 3.6 degrees from normal, Shimla has reached 25.5 degrees after a rise of 5.6 degrees, Manali has reached 25.9 degrees with 6.5 degrees more than normal, Bhuntar has reached 32.8 degrees after a rise of 6.9 degrees, Dharamshala has reached 30.0 Celsius after a rise of 4.9 degrees.

The temperature of 12 cities of the state has crossed 30 degrees Celsius. The average maximum temperature of the state has also increased by 3.9 degrees from normal. During the last 24 hours, the average maximum temperature of the state has also increased by 1.1 degrees. There is a possibility of further increase in it today.

Chances of rain from day after tomorrow

Amid the scorching heat, there is some relief that the Western Disturbance is becoming active from April 9. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain in the mountains till April 12. Especially Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi may receive rain during this period.

On 9th April, it may rain only in the higher altitude areas. On 10th and 11th, it may rain in most parts of the state. On 12th April, it may rain only in the higher and medium altitude areas. This is expected to provide relief from heat to the people of the state.

Take these measures to protect yourself from heatwave

According to doctors, during a heat wave, one should consume as much liquid as possible and wear light and loose cotton clothes. Similarly, one should not go out in the sun without any reason. If necessary, go out wearing a cloth, cap or handkerchief on the head. While travelling, keep a bottle of water with you and drink ORS solution. Stop consuming intoxicants and eat high protein food.
