Shimla: Severe heat has started in Himachal Pradesh. In the first week of April itself, the temperature of 14 cities has crossed 30 degrees Celsius. The temperature of Una has reached 36.8 degrees Celsius. The temperature of some cities has become 6 to 7 degrees more than normal.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heat wave in four districts of the state, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Solan on Tuesday. Hot winds can be felt at some places in these districts today. Due to this, people will have to face problems especially during the day.
It is obvious that the heat wave will lead to a further rise in temperature. The average maximum temperature of the state is currently 4.6 degrees Celsius higher than normal. After the maximum temperature of Kalpa rose by the maximum of 7.3 degrees compared to normal, the mercury here has reached 22.7 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature of Manali has increased by 6.9 degrees to 26.3 degrees, Bhuntar has increased by 7.3 degrees to 33.2 degrees, Keylong has increased by 6.8 degrees to 17.8 degrees and the maximum temperature of Shimla has increased by 6.1 degrees from normal to 26.0 degrees Celsius.
Western disturbance will be active from tomorrow
According to the weather department, Western Disturbance is getting active from tomorrow. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain in the mountains till 12th April. Especially in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts, warning has been issued for rain as well as storm and thunderstorm for the next four days. After the rain, the people of the state are expected to get relief from the heat.
A person affected by heat stroke may feel weak, have headache, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive sweating, feeling tremors, dizziness and muscle cramps. If any of these symptoms are seen, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
What to do to avoid heatstroke?
During a heat wave, one should consume as much liquid as possible and wear light and loose cotton clothes. Similarly, one should not go out in the sun without any reason. If necessary, go out wearing a cloth, cap or handkerchief on the head. While travelling, keep a bottle of water with you and drink ORS solution. Stop consuming intoxicants and consume high protein food.
