This time, too the budget is expected to be in deficit. The Municipal Corporation will present a budget of about Rs 365 crore this time.
The special thing is that the Municipal Corporation has an income of 248 crores in 2024. But the budget is more than 100 crores than the income. That is, the income of the corporation is Rs 1 but the expenditure is more than Rs 2. This time, the budget will be 57 crores more than last time.
After the approval of the House, this budget will be sent to the government through the Urban Local Bodies Department Haryana. In such a situation, the budget meeting to be held in the Municipal Corporation Auditorium on Wednesday is important for the development of the city as well as the corporation administration. The meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Mayor Praveen Popli.
In the year 2024-25, the Municipal Corporation had earned Rs 21.49 crore from property tax, while the combined amount of fire tax and M-tax was around Rs 32.48 crore. The target in this financial budget year was Rs 42.50 crore, which was not achieved. Now in the financial year 2025-26, a budget of Rs 46.50 crore will be presented in the House.
