Masked Gunmen Open Fire at AAP Councilor’s House in Amritsar

Amritsar: Around 12 a.m. Friday night, masked individuals opened fire at the home of a sitting Aam Aadmi Party councillor in the Ratan Singh Chowk area of ​​Amritsar. According to reports, the criminals fired several rounds at the councillor’s residence, causing panic in the area. Local residents reported that the councillor’s entire family was present inside the home at the time of the incident, but no injuries were reported.

According to the councillor’s husband, Inderjeet, the attack may be linked to a previous complaint he filed with the police against certain individuals involved in drug trafficking. Inderjeet stated that these longstanding disputes could have prompted the masked gunmen to target the family. Inderjeet said that this old rivalry likely led to today’s deadly attack.

CCTV Footage and Police Investigation

The family, horrified by the incident, immediately went to the local police station to file a complaint and plead for justice. They stated that the entire incident was recorded on CCTV cameras and the footage has been handed over to the police. The CCTV footage clearly shows masked men approaching the counsellor’s home in the dark of night and opening fire on him.

Police have launched a formal investigation, examining CCTV footage and gathering statements from local witnesses. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the shooting.
