AAP donations drop by 68%, receiving ₹12.10 crore in 2025-26; Ashutosh Ranka among donors

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received ₹12.10 crore in declared donations in the financial year 2025-26, a decrease of approximately 68% compared to ₹38.10 crore in the previous financial year. This information is provided in the contribution report submitted by the party to the Election Commission.

₹10 crore received from two major donors

According to the report, Prudent Electoral Trust and Trident Limited contributed ₹5 crore each to AAP. The total amount of ₹10 crore received from both parties represents approximately 83% of the party’s declared contributions.

Trident Donated Before Joining the BJP

Trident Limited was founded by former AAP Rajya Sabha MP Rajinder Gupta. Gupta joined the BJP in April 2026.

According to the report, the company’s contribution of ₹5 crore to the AAP was made through a check dated January 9, 2026. Gupta was associated with the AAP at the time.

Ashutosh Ranka also named among donors

AAP’s contribution report also includes Ashutosh Ranka, who is now the co-convenor of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and previously served as an AAP spokesperson.

According to the report, Ranka contributed ₹21,100 to the AAP in the 2025-26 financial year. This contribution was made before he joined the CJP.

Kejriwal and Atishi also contributed

The report contains a total of 1,202 entries. AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal contributed ₹10,000 each three times. Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi contributed ₹42,000 in 12 installments, and Punjab AAP President Aman Arora contributed ₹1.20 lakh in 12 installments. Political parties are required to report contributions exceeding ₹20,000 to the Election Commission. Therefore, the amounts recorded in the report cannot be considered the party’s total income or all donations received.
