Ludhiana: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will hold a protest in Ludhiana on Saturday against the alleged NEET paper leak issue and policies of the BJP-led central government. Party workers will take to the streets with thalis (metal plates) as part of the demonstration to highlight concerns over students’ future.

The protest has been named ‘Thali Bajao, Tanashah Bhagao’, under which AAP members will clang plates as a symbolic way of registering their opposition.

Protest scheduled at Aarti Chowk

According to the party’s schedule, the demonstration will be held at Aarti Chowk on Ferozepur Road at 4 PM. AAP workers are expected to participate in large numbers and raise their voice against the alleged irregularities related to the NEET examination.

The party said the protest is aimed at supporting students and highlighting issues affecting lakhs of aspirants across the country.

MLAs and volunteers to participate

The Ludhiana unit of AAP said that party MLAs, chairpersons, councillors, office-bearers and volunteers will take part in the protest.

Party leaders have appealed to people to join the demonstration and raise their voice over issues concerning students and competitive examinations.

AAP targets Centre over student issues

AAP Ludhiana leaders alleged that students are facing difficulties due to the central government’s handling of examination-related issues.

The party said the protest is intended to put pressure on the government and demand accountability over matters affecting students.
