Accident in Fatehabad: Young man dies in collision between tractor and bike

A young man died in a road accident on Thursday night in the Jakhal area near the Punjab border in Chandpura village of the block. The young man was returning to his village from Kulriya village of Punjab on a bike. Meanwhile, a tractor rider hit his bike near the village. Due to which he died on the spot. In the accident, the deceased fell on the road along with the bike.

On receiving information about the incident, the local Jakhal police reached the spot and took the body in custody and was taken to the civil hospital of Tohana for postmortem. According to the information received from the people of the village, Harpreet Singh alias Fauji (19), son of Amrik Singh, a resident of village Chandpura, used to work at a glass shop in Kulriya village of Mansa district of Punjab. He used to commute daily by bike. On Thursday night also, he was returning to his home after finishing his work. As soon as he reached Kulriya road near the village Chandpura, a tractor rider hit his bike. As soon as he was hit, he fell on the road along with the bike. Due to this he died.

After committing the crime, the tractor driver fled from the spot. Due to the wisdom of the village panchayat, the CCTV cameras of the village were checked and it was found that the tractor was coming from the debris. After committing the crime, an attempt was made to erase the evidence. But the villagers together investigated the incident completely and caught the tractor driver. He was handed over to the police. Two people were riding the tractor at night, one of whom is still absconding.

Harpreet Singh was the eldest of two brothers

The deceased’s father Amrik Singh has two sons and a daughter. Harpreet Singh was the eldest among them. Gurmeet Singh is younger to him. He also has a sister who is still studying. Amrik Singh himself runs a hawker. With the intention of improving the financial condition of the family, Harpreet used to go to his shop in Kulriya village of Punjab, five kilometers away from the village, every day.
