A major road accident took place near Kyodak village in Kaithal on Monday morning. A car going from Bathinda to Pehowa Gurudwara collided with a Haryana Roadways bus. The collision was so severe that the car was badly damaged and overturned on the road. Four people in the car died on the spot in the accident, while some people were injured.
According to initial information, the car passengers were residents of Bathinda in Punjab. They were going to attend a religious program at Gurudwara Sahib in Pehowa, Kurukshetra. As soon as the car reached near Kaithal, the car collided directly with a Haryana Roadways bus coming from the front. The collision was so strong that the car was badly crushed and overturned and fell on the roadside.
As soon as the accident was reported, the nearby villagers reached the spot and informed the police. The Sadar police station police team reached the spot and started relief and rescue work. The people trapped inside were taken out with a crane. The bodies were sent to the civil hospital for post-mortem. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Kaithal.
Police officials said that the accident is being investigated. Four people travelling in the car have died. The injured have not been identified yet. While the passengers travelling in the bus have suffered minor injuries, however, all are safe. The reasons for the accident are not known yet. After the accident, the negligence of the bus driver and the car drivers is being investigated.
Villagers said that the place where this accident happened, high speed vehicles often pass on the road. Accidents have happened here many times before. Local people demanded from the administration that a speed breaker or traffic control system should be made at this place, so that such accidents can be prevented in future.
