Italy: A luxury yacht Bayesian sank on Monday morning near Sicily Island in Italy. There were 22 people on board the 184 feet long yacht. These included 10 crew members and 12 passengers from America, Britain and Canada. The wreckage of the yacht has been identified. It has been found at a depth of 50 meters in the sea.

The cook deployed on the yacht has died and 6 are missing. The missing people also include Britain’s famous software businessman Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah. Businessman Lynch’s wife Angela Backares has been rescued. She was the owner of the sunken yacht Bayesian.

Morgan Stanley International President Jonathan Bloomer and his wife were also on board the yacht. They are also being searched for. Bloomer is a close friend of Lynch. His lawyer, who has been fighting Lynch’s case for many years, is also missing.

An Italian coastguard official said that  at 5 am, strong waves arose due to the storm, which caused the yacht to sink. The yacht was anchored about 18 km from Sicily’s capital Palermo. Yachts are designed to withstand storms, but it is not yet clear under what circumstances the yacht sank. Some information will be available only after talking to the crew members admitted in the hospital. However, some reports say that due to the winds, one of the boat’s masts broke, which caused the yacht to lose balance and capsize.

The coastguard official said that there was another yacht from the Netherlands near the yacht which helped save the lives of 15 people. Those who were rescued alive also include a one-year-old girl who has been admitted to the hospital along with her parents. Scientist said- The yacht sank due to global warming

Italian meteorologist Luca Merkley said that this yacht must have sunk due to global warming. The scientist told news agency Reuters that Italy experienced severe heat for several weeks. Now there are severe storms and rains.

This is happening due to global warming. At the time of the accident, the sea surface temperature around Sicily was around 30 degrees Celsius, which is about 3 degrees more than normal. This is also the reason for big storms.
