Miscreants looted pilgrims going for Amarnath Yatra

The incidents of robberies are continuously increasing in Punjab. At around 3:30 in the morning, there has been a case reported of robbery with pilgrims going on a pilgrimage to Amarnath on National Highway 54.

When pilgrims reached the village of Chahal, the robbers hiding there surrounded them and attacked them and looted their cash, goods, bikes and escaped from the place of incident. After which pilgrims informed the police about this robbery. They have registered a case and started investigation.

According to the information, a group of 22 passengers riding on 11 motorcycles from Jinda village of Bathinda left for Amarnath at around 2 in the morning.

When they reached near Faridkot around 3 o’clock, three robbers who were hiding near the Semnal of village Chahal attacked one of the group with sharp weapons and sticks. In which the finger of one passenger’s hand was cut and the leg of the other was injured and in this struggle the bike fell and when the passenger ran to the field to save his life, the robbers took his bike, two bags full of goods and Ran away after looting cash etc.

The injured passengers were brought to the hospital by the rest of their companions who were coming behind.

The police are checking the CCTV cameras around the incident site and trying to find the culprits so that the robbers can be caught soon. Expressing concern over such situations, the travelers there said that the increase in such incidents in Punjab is a cause for concern. To which the administration needs to pay attention.
