The incident took place on Friday night in the DM College campus. A man named Oinam Kenegi (24) died in the hospital, while a person seriously injured in the incident is undergoing treatment in the hospital, a police officer said. Till now no organization has taken responsibility for the blast.
Meanwhile, unidentified persons set on fire the office of civil society organization United Committee Manipur (UCM) at Lamphelpat in Imphal West district.
In another incident, unidentified persons broke into the administrative wing of a school in Imphal East district and set it on fire at 1.45 am on Friday, a police officer said. He said that the fire also engulfed a vehicle parked in the premises.
