Uttar Pradesh: Five people died and four others were injured in a tragic road accident early Monday morning at the Gorai intersection in the Mallawan area of Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred around 3 A.M. when a speeding Bolero, returning from a wedding, crashed into a private bus that was parked at the intersection, which was also carrying members of a wedding party.
The force of the collision was so intense that the front of the Bolero was completely crushed, causing panic and chaos at the scene. Upon learning of the accident, local police quickly arrived to carry out rescue operations, and the injured individuals were taken to the nearest hospital.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police, East, Nripendra Kumar, it appears that the Bolero lost control before hitting the stationary bus. “Five people have died in the collision and four injured individuals have been sent to Lucknow for urgent treatment. All passengers on the bus sustained only minor injuries,” Kumar noted.
In response to the incident, a case has been filed based on complaints from the victims’ families, and an investigation is currently ongoing. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his deep sorrow over the tragedy and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased. He has directed district officials to ensure that the injured receive appropriate medical treatment and wished them a speedy recovery. The Chief Minister also emphasized the need for prompt relief and rescue efforts at the accident site and has pledged support for the victims’ families.
Authorities have committed to a thorough investigation and will work towards preventing similar accidents in the future, especially as the winter season brings fog and reduced visibility, which can lead to more road incidents.
