Vadodara (Gujrat): In a tragic incident six students were injured when the wall of a private Shri Narayan School collapsed in Vadodara, Gujarat. This incident happened during the lunch break. If the wall had fallen inwards towards the classroom, the accident could have taken a bigger form, luckily the wall fell outwards. There was no one outside near the wall at that time, otherwise they could have been trapped under it. Only the students sitting in the class near the wall fell outwards and got injured. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed there. The parents of the children have demanded the administration to take strict action against the school administration for this negligence.
In this incident one student has a head injury, Three have minor injuries. After the incident the fire brigade team and police were called. Police is investigating the cause of the wall collapse. On the other hand, Vadodara Parents Association has decided to protest against the school . A case can also be registered regarding the matter.
The police have recorded the statements of the injured children, their families and the school management. No statement has been given by the Education Department and the District Administration since the incident. Local people had said that this accident happened due to the old building. However, the school administration says that they have all the necessary documents.
More than 1200 students study in this school. The school was closed after the wall collapsed on Friday. The structure stability certificate was given to the school a month ago. The reason for the wall collapse is not yet known. Police say that the investigation is ongoing.
The school’s principal Rupalben Shah said that we suddenly heard a very loud sound. After this, when we reached the place where the wall collapsed, we found that 4 children were injured. One child had stitches on his head. The children’s bicycles were buried in the debris. We had no idea that such an incident would happen.
