According to the information, the police had arrested two accused in the case of cutting electrical wires outside the house of deceased DM Gagandeep Randhawa and obtained a five-day remand. During this time, Gurbaksh Singh’s health deteriorated, and he died in custody.

The family members said that the police brutally beat up their son, due to which he died. They say that they repeatedly asked the police to get the youth properly treated, even talked about admitting him to a private hospital, but the police did not listen to them.

The family also says that the youth had complained of pain, and there was negligence in providing medical facilities. They also alleged that the death was not reported on time, and an attempt was made to hide the matter.

On the other hand, Ranjit Avenue Police Station Superintendent Robin Hans said that the youth was taken for medical examination after his health deteriorated, and he was taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment.
