Accused Dies in Rohtak Police Custody; Family Alleges ‘Third-Degree’ Torture

A 51-year-old accused individual died while in the custody of the Rohtak District CIA-2 police. The deceased’s family has accused the police of subjecting him to “third-degree torture.” Meanwhile, the police have deposited the body in the mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The post-mortem of the deceased is scheduled to be conducted today.

The deceased has been identified as Naresh Kumar, a resident of Titoli village. The CIA-2 team had picked up Naresh Kumar late in the evening; after his health deteriorated during the night, he was admitted to a private hospital. He passed away while undergoing treatment. The police subsequently placed the body in the mortuary for a post-mortem.

The relatives of the deceased, Naresh, have alleged that the CIA-2 team subjected him to third-degree torture, claiming that the police inflicted severe injuries upon him during a rigorous interrogation. They assert that these injuries were the direct cause of his death. The family members have demanded that disciplinary action be taken against the CIA team.

Dushyant Chautala Raises Questions Regarding the CIA

Former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala had, just yesterday during a press conference, leveled allegations of “hooliganism” against the CIA team. Dushyant Chautala stated that the CIA team operates in unmarked vehicles—without uniforms or license plates—and with tinted windows. He alleged that ordinary citizens are treated as if they were terrorists. He had also specifically raised questions regarding the conduct of the Rohtak CIA team.

Death Attributed to Heart Attack

The person in charge of CIA-2 maintains that the accused suffered a heart attack. Consequently, the accused was admitted to a private hospital during the night. He passed away while undergoing medical treatment. The police have sent the body to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
