Gursharan Singh alias Prince, the main accused in the road accident case of Richie K.P., the only son of former Jalandhar MP and former Punjab Congress president Mohinder Singh K.P., surrendered in court late Tuesday evening. Police from Station 6 arrested him from the court complex and obtained a two-day remand.
Earlier, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had rejected Prince’s anticipatory bail plea. The court acknowledged that the case was very serious and there was strong evidence of reckless and rash driving against the accused.
The accused had been absconding since September 13th. He had sought anticipatory bail to avoid jail time. However, the court revoked his bail. Subsequently, he presented himself in court late Tuesday evening.
What was the whole story?
The accident occurred on Saturday night, September 13th, 2025, around 10:55 pm, in the posh Model Town area of Jalandhar. Richie K.P. P. (36) was travelling in his Fortuner car. According to CCTV footage and eyewitnesses, a speeding Creta car came and hit four vehicles, including Richie’s Fortuner.

Passersby rushed him to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead. The driver of the Creta car, Gursharan Singh alias Prince (a businessman from Shekha Bazaar), fled the scene immediately after the accident.
