Teen Dies in Fatal Road Accident in Kangra District

Kangra: Seventeen-year-old Adarsh Kumar, a resident of Amb Lahad village, Dehra, Kangra district, died in a road accident yesterday. The accident occurred on NH-503 in Khabli Dosarka, Dehra, while he was returning home after buying new clothes from the Dehra market.

Adarsh’s bike went out of control and hit a mango tree on the roadside. The impact was so severe that Adarsh fell onto the road, seriously injured. The accident caused chaos at the scene. Locals immediately attended to him and rushed him to Dehra Hospital in critical condition, from where, due to his critical condition, he was referred to Tanda Medical College.

Teen succumbs to his injuries

Doctors tried their best, but he died during treatment. Adarsh Kumar was a Plus Two student at Government Senior Secondary School, Bankhandi. Family members said Adarsh had purchased a bike 22 days ago. His insistence on buying one proved fatal. Adarsh was the only brother of two sisters.

Elder sister Priya (26) works as a nurse in Bathinda, while younger sister Riya (24) is a CA in a private company in Chandigarh. Father Sanjay Kumar runs a small shop to support the family. Despite his limited income, he spared no effort to ensure his children’s education and future.

Police engaged in investigation of the accident

He was the family’s only son and considered the support of his parents in their old age. Adarsh’s death has cast a pall of gloom over the entire area. Villagers, relatives, and school teachers and students are grieving. Dehra Police District Superintendent of Police Mayank Chaudhary confirmed the accident and said that the case is under investigation and all aspects of the accident are being thoroughly examined.
