According to the NCS, the earthquake was recorded at 36.602°N latitude and 71.084°E longitude, with the epicentre located in Afghanistan. The seismic event was classified as reviewed by the NCS.
The NCS earthquake monitoring data places the epicentre around 73 km southeast of Fayzabad, Afghanistan.
Tremors Felt in Parts of Kashmir
Light tremors from the earthquake were also felt in parts of Kashmir, according to reports citing the NCS. The depth of 220 km means the earthquake was a deep-focus event.
