5 Killed as Bolero Crashes into Tree in Agra Tragedy

A devastating road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra district has claimed the lives of five people, including members of the same family, after a Bolero vehicle crashed into a tree. The incident occurred late at night in the Chitrahat police station area near Pai village, sending shockwaves through the region.

According to police, the victims were returning from Rajasthan after visiting the famous Kaila Devi temple on the first day of Navratri when the accident took place.

Five Dead, Several Injured

In the tragic mishap, five people lost their lives, including a father, his son, daughter-in-law, and a young granddaughter. The accident wiped out three generations of a family, leaving relatives and locals in deep grief.

Apart from the deceased, at least four others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. Due to the severity of their condition, they were later referred to Saifai Medical College for advanced treatment.

Doctors have described the condition of some of the injured as critical.

Vehicle Crashed into Tree

Initial reports suggest that the Bolero was moving at high speed when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and crash into a tree. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the vehicle was completely mangled.

Eyewitnesses said the collision was extremely powerful, trapping passengers inside the vehicle. Local residents rushed to the spot after hearing loud screams and worked to rescue the victims by breaking the windows.

Driver Fatigue Suspected

Police officials believe that driver fatigue may have been a major cause of the accident. Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver might have dozed off while driving late at night, leading to the loss of control.

However, authorities have stated that all possible angles are being examined, and a detailed probe is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.

Family Returning from Pilgrimage

The victims were devotees returning home after offering prayers at the Kaila Devi temple in Rajasthan. The journey, which began as a spiritual trip during Navratri, ended in tragedy, leaving families shattered.

The deceased belonged to Etawah and Auraiya districts, and news of the accident has led to mourning in their native villages.

Police Action and Investigation

Police reached the scene soon after receiving information and shifted the injured to hospital while sending the bodies for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing.

Officials have urged drivers to remain cautious, especially during long-distance travel at night, emphasizing the dangers of fatigue and overspeeding.
