Chandigarh:
Sanykut Kisan Morcha (SKM) announced to block highways across state on October 13 to mark protests against governments.
SKM along with Rice Miller Association as well as Arhtiya Association has announced to block road traffic on this Sunday on October 13 for three hours from 12pm to 3pm.
Today, The representatives of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha held a meeting with the representatives of Rice Miller Association as well as Arhtiya Association at Kisan Bhawan in Chandigarh regarding procurement of paddy.
After the meeting, SKM and representatives of Rice Millers association and Arhtiya Association addressed media announcing the blockade of road traffic on October 13 I,e on Sunday from 12pm to 3pm.
Balbir Singh Rajewal, SKM leader mentioned that procurement of paddy was to begin on October 1, but it is not being lifted from the markets. He also blamed central government for deliberately causing harm to Punjab.
After announcing the protest for October 13, Rajewal mentioned that on October 14, another meeting will be held with the representatives of industry, Vapaar Mandal and other organizations to decide further course of action.
Rajewal demanded that the government should ensure the godowns should be cleared at the earliest, whether give it to ethanol industry or export it, it should be cleared and procurement of new crop should being and it should be held smoothly.
