Tension erupted in Kurukshetra after farmers protesting delayed paddy procurement attempted to block the GT Road, prompting police to use tear gas and water cannons.
Ludhiana: The procurement has been started today in the mandis across the district. Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal visited Asia’s largest grain market in Khanna and kickstarted the purchase of paddy. While getting the procurement started, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal stated that all requisite arrangements have already been put in place in the mandis as well.
