Punjab Police arrest key accused in Una murder case from Mohali

Mohali, August 29: Punjab Police’s Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​has arrested a gangster in Mohali area. The accused was involved in a murder in Una, Himachal Pradesh. He was connected to his handler sitting abroad. A pistol and 6 cartridges have been recovered from the accused.

The accused has been identified as Vipan Kumar resident of Bassi Muda, Baghpur Mandir, Hoshiarpur. The case is being investigated by the police. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that many revelations will be made during the interrogation.

Was involved in the murder in Himachal

Initial investigation has revealed that the arrested Vipan Kumar was one of the main shooters involved in the murder of Rakesh Kumar alias Gaggi at Khwaja Basal village, Una, Himachal Pradesh. The incident was a direct result of the gang war between foreign gangsters Laddi Bhajjal alias Koonar and Monu Gujjar (Ravi Balachauriya gang) and Babbi Rana (Sonu Khatri gang). The deceased, Rakesh Kumar alias Gaggi, was an associate of foreign gangster Babbi Rana, who is a close associate of Sonu Khatri.

The murder happened while cutting the hair

Rakesh Kumar alias Gaggi was killed on Sunday, July 27, in Upper Basal, Una, when he went to a barber shop to get a haircut. The attackers came on a motorcycle. They fired about seven-eight rounds at the victim, but did not fire a single bullet at Rakesh’s companions. The incident took place at the shop located on the Chandigarh-Dharamshala highway, about 7 km from Una.

Responsibility of murder taken on social media

After the murder, two miscreants from Narayangarh, Ladi Kumar and Venkat Garg, took responsibility for Rakesh’s murder on their social media accounts. They posted a post on social media and also tagged another Una-based miscreant Mani Rana, who is currently in jail. After this, another miscreant, Babbi Rana, claiming to be associated with the Bachittar gang, vowed to kill all those involved in the murder of Rakesh alias Gaggi. It has also come to light that several criminal cases are registered against Rakesh in Himachal Pradesh.
