AGTF-SAS Nagar Police joint op; operative of foreign based gangster arrested

In a breakthrough, Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in a joint operation with SAS Nagar Police, apprehended a key operative of foreign-based gangsters.  The Police team also recovered one .32 calibre pistol along with five live cartridges.

The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav through a post on X.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused was acting on the directions of his foreign-based handlers and had been assigned multiple targets across the Tricity region. His arrest has successfully averted potentially serious criminal activities in the area.

The arrest follows the earlier joint operation conducted on April 18, in which a gangster module was busted with the apprehension of four accused.

Further investigation is underway to establish backward and forward linkages of the network.

DGP Yadav assured that the Punjab Police remains committed to dismantling organised gangster networks and ensuring peace and security across Punjab.
