Ahead of Polls, graffiti to boycott elections found on DU walls, FIR lodged

New Delhi: Ahead of Polling in the National Capital, two FIRs have been lodged for controversial graffiti found on the walls of Delhi University. Graffiti advocating boycott of elections were spotted on walls across Delhi University. Yesterday, the poll campaign ended for the sixth phase and tomorrow, i.e on May 25th, all seven seats of New Delhi will undergo polling.

Sharing the image of Graffiti, ANI reported, “Boycott elections’ graffiti found written on the walls in Delhi University area. Two FIRs registered under Prevention of Defacement of Property Act and investigation has been initated: Delhi Police.”

Apart from the graffiti, nearly 14 colleges affiliated with Delhi University received bomb threats. Later, these threats were called hoaxes by the Delhi Police.

Election in New Delhi

Security measures in and around the national capital, Delhi, have been beefed up as the city gears up for the elections. Polling will be held on May 25. The voting at the polling stations will begin at 7 am and end at 6 pm.

Authorities have also taken steps to prepare polling stations across Delhi in response to the heatwave warning issued by the India Meteorological Department.
