Ludhiana: Air India has revised the timing of its afternoon flight operating between Ludhiana’s Halwara International Airport and Delhi, with the new schedule set to come into effect from September 10, 2026.
Airport Director Jagir Singh confirmed the change, saying the revised timing was introduced following requests from regular passengers.
Under the new schedule, the afternoon flight from Delhi will arrive at Halwara Airport at 3:35 PM, while the return flight from Halwara to Delhi will depart at 4:05 PM.
There is currently no change in the timing of the morning Air India flight operating between the two airports.
New Halwara-Delhi flight schedule
The revised afternoon schedule is expected to give passengers more time to manage onward connections at Delhi Airport.
Regular travellers have welcomed the change, particularly those who frequently take connecting flights to other parts of the country.
Dr Gauhar Vatsyayan, a frequent traveller from Halwara, said the revised timing would provide passengers with more time to catch connecting flights at Delhi Airport. He said he often travels to cities such as Bengaluru and Mumbai and previously had very little time between arriving in Delhi and boarding his connecting flight.
The revised schedule is therefore expected to reduce the pressure on passengers who need to make onward connections.
Demand to extend Halwara Airport operating hours
Meanwhile, the local administration has requested Halwara Airport authorities to extend the airport’s current restricted operating hours.
If the request is approved, further changes to flight timings could be introduced in the coming months.
An extension of operating hours could particularly benefit passengers travelling to Delhi to catch late-night international flights, as they would have more time to make their onward connections.
Passengers seek more flights from Halwara Airport
Regular travellers have also called for more flights from Halwara Airport in the coming months.
Additional routes would provide residents of Ludhiana and neighbouring districts with better air connectivity and reduce their dependence on Delhi for air travel.
Passengers believe that increasing the number of flights could help Halwara Airport emerge as an important air travel hub for Punjab and provide more convenient connectivity to major Indian cities.
