Ajmer liquor trader gets ₹2 crore extortion threat

In Ajmer, a liquor businessman has received a death threat from the Godara gang. The caller claimed to be a member of the Rohit Godara gang and demanded extortion of Rs 2 crore. The caller identified himself as Rahul Fatehpur. He said- I will make it like the Kuchaman Rulaniya murder. In this case, the victim Jitendra Rangwani has filed a complaint at Haribhau Upadhyay Nagar police station.

The incident took place on April 16 at 4.30 pm. According to the report given in the police station, he runs a liquor business. It has four liquor shops in Ajmer. However, considering the seriousness of the case, the police have immediately become alert and have started searching for the accused along with investigating the call.

The victim, BJP leader Jitendra Rangwani (43), a resident of Kotda, gave a complaint to the police that on April 16 at 4:30 pm, he was getting a cutting done at a salon at Bhagwan Ganj. That’s when he got a call.

The victim, Rangwani, said that the caller had made a call on WhatsApp. The call was made from an international number. He was threatened by the caller and demanded Rs 2 crore. The caller said that if he did not give the money, he would fend like Kuchaman Rulania murder. Along with this, he also sent a recording, in which he was threatened with consequences if he did not pay 2 crores.

The accused caller has threatened to kill Rohit as a member of the Godara gang. The caller identified himself as Rahul Fatehpur and Virendra Charan.

Rahul called and said, ‘How are you doing…’

The caller said that I am Rahul speaking from Fatehpur of the Rohit Godara gang. I am calling for a ransom of 2 crore. If you want to act and hang up the phone after hearing this, it will cost you dearly. Make sure tomorrow that no one else answers the phone in your place. If you understand the language of brotherhood, that’s fine.

For now, the Haribhau Upadhyay Nagar Police Station has registered a case and started the investigation.

It is noted that the victim, Jitendra Rangwani, had also contested the councilor election 5 years ago from Ward No. 26 of Ajmer South Assembly constituency on the BJP symbol. However, he faced defeat in the election. Currently, Jitendra Rangwani is active in the BJP. However, he does not hold any position in the BJP at present. He is originally a liquor businessman.
