Ayodhya: Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav will visit the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on December 12, party leader Pawan Pandey said on Saturday. It will be the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister’s first visit to the temple since it was consecrated in January 2024.
Yadav will also visit Hanuman Garhi to seek blessings of Lord Hanuman.
“Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party national president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister, will visit Ayodhya on December 12. He will seek Hanuman’s blessings at Hanuman Garhi. He would also seek blessings at Ram Mandir. We are extremely happy. We will welcome him wholeheartedly,” Pandey told reporters on Saturday.
Akhilesh Yadav Skipped Visit To Ram Temple
Akhilesh Yadav had been invited to attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple held on January 22, 2024. However, he had said that he would visit the temple later with his family.
Yadav has not visited the Ram Mandir since its inauguration and so this will be his first planned visit to the shrine.
BJP Questioned Akhilesh Yadav Over Previous Visit To Ayodhya
The SP chief had visited Ayodhya on October 8 this year for a Bhagwat Katha. However, he did not visit the Ram Temple.
This decision received some criticism from ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders who questioned why he did not visit the temple when he had gone to Ayodhya.
Now, with news of his visit on December 12, Yadav will visit Hanuman Garhi and the Ram Temple on his next visit to the temple town.
