Mumbai: Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt has expressed solidarity with students protesting over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak controversy, saying the developments of the past few days have deeply affected her.

In a post shared on Instagram, Alia highlighted the struggles, dreams and sacrifices behind every student participating in the protests. She said the students represent not only themselves but also their families and future generations.

“The last few days have broken my heart and then mended it, again and again, with hope. Behind every student standing their ground is a dream, a family’s hope, a journey of countless sacrifices,” Alia wrote.

Alia praises students’ courage and determination

The actor praised the determination of protesting students and said their actions raise important questions about whether the voices of young people are being heard.

“Their courage humbles me. Their resolve is a mirror held up to all of us, asking whether we are truly listening to the very people who will inherit and shape this country’s tomorrow,” she added.

Alia said the future belongs to students and concluded her message by expressing support for their cause.

Celebrities extend support amid NEET controversy

Alia Bhatt’s statement comes after several celebrities reacted to the ongoing protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination process.

Earlier, actor Salman Khan also expressed concern over the issue, calling the paper leak a serious matter and supporting students who were peacefully protesting.

Salman said students and their families deserved attention and praised young people for coming together to demand improvements in the education system.

Delhi High Court to hear plea over NEET protest

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court has agreed to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the July 20 “Sansad Chalo” protest linked to the alleged NEET paper leak issue.

The petition seeks the transfer of FIRs registered by Delhi Police to a specialised agency and action against those accused of violence during the protest.

The plea alleges that the demonstration, which began at Jantar Mantar on June 6, later turned violent during the “Sansad Chalo” march, with claims of stone-pelting, injuries to police personnel, attacks on journalists and damage to property.

The NEET paper leak controversy has continued to trigger protests across the country, with students demanding greater transparency, accountability and reforms in the examination system.
