Ambala: Fire breaks out in a two-storey grocery store, goods worth lakhs gutted

A fire broke out in a two-story grocery store in the Aggarwal Complex on Babyal Road on Monday morning. Neighbors noticed the fire due to the smoke. Upon receiving the information, a fire brigade vehicle arrived at the scene.

After about half an hour of hard work, the flames were brought under control by the fire tenders. A crowd of locals gathered around the spot in no time. Shop owner Pawan Sehgal said that he had closed his shop at usual time last night. He learned on the phone the next day, on Monday morning, that the shop had caught fire.

Upon arriving at the scene, the entire shop was engulfed in flames. A short circuit is currently being cited as the cause of the fire. Grocery items worth lakhs of rupees kept in the shop were reduced to ashes.
