Ambala: Missing woman murdered; body found in car parked inside house

Manindra Kaur, a resident of Sector-8, Ambala City, who had gone missing a day earlier, was murdered. Her body was found on Sunday morning at 8:00 AM inside a Swift car parked at a house in Gobindgarh village. Marks from a sharp-edged weapon were found on the woman’s neck, chest, and both hands. The owner of the house and the vehicle where the body was discovered is currently missing.

Station House Officer (SHO) Dharmbir stated that an investigation has been initiated, with Section 103 (murder) added to the case. A forensic examination revealed that the body was only a few hours old; however, the full details will become clear only after the post-mortem report is received. An FIR regarding the woman’s disappearance had been registered at the Baldev Nagar police station on June 27.

The police are also investigating the possibility of a romantic angle, though there has been no official confirmation yet. The FIR regarding Manindra Kaur’s disappearance was lodged at the Model Town police post based on a complaint filed by her brother, Sukhbir Singh.

Sukhbir had stated that their mother, Sarjindra Kaur, was ill and had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city since June 23. His sister, Manindra Kaur, had stayed at the hospital to attend to their mother. Around 12:10 PM on June 27, Manindra Kaur went downstairs to get coconut water but did not return.

Car owner’s mother spotted the body

Naggal SHO Karmbir stated that a woman and her son, Manindra Singh, reside in Gobindgarh. While the mother was working at home in the morning, she noticed the car. She then called her relatives and had the police informed.
Family members said that Manindra Singh had arrived with the car during the night and left on his bike; his phone had been switched off since then. At 10:00 AM, they spotted her son’s car parked near the tractor-trolley at the house.

Knife recovered from the car; body found on the back seat

When a team comprising forensic experts and police personnel from the Baldev Nagar and Naggal stations arrived at the scene, a black Swift car was found parked inside the house. Upon opening the car, a blood-soaked body was found lying on the back seat. Police recovered a folding knife and a pair of women’s sandals from the scene, along with some documents. Having gathered all the evidence, the police have launched a search for Manindra to clarify the full circumstances of the incident. Following a post-mortem examination conducted by forensic experts at the city’s Civil Hospital, the body has been handed over to the family.
