Amit Shah Raises Concerns and Question’s Mann Government Over Punjab’s Law and Order, Drugs, Gangsterism and Jhotta Murder

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday targeted the Bhagwant Mann-led government over concerns about drugs, gangsterism and organised crime in Punjab, citing the incidents in Dirba and Mansa while calling for accountability over public safety.

In his statement, Shah referred to the case of a father in Dirba who allegedly consumed poison under pressure and the broad-daylight killing of Parvinder Singh Jhotta in Mansa, who had reportedly raised his voice against drugs.

Shah said Jhotta’s father had levelled serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and its MLA. He also stated that the Union Home Ministry would seek responses from the Punjab government over both incidents.

Amit Shah Questions Punjab’s Law and Order

Shah raised concerns over the drug trade, the growing threat of organised crime and the safety of people who speak out against drugs.

Addressing Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, he said the people of Punjab wanted answers and results rather than promises and announcements. He called for decisive action against drug networks and an impartial investigation into allegations of political patronage for criminals.

    Shah Promises Drug-Free, Gangster-Free Punjab

Shah reiterated his commitment to making Punjab drug-free, free from gangsterism and safer for its residents if the BJP forms the government in the state.

He listed action against the drug trade, protection of young people’s future, strict measures against criminals and the rule of law among the party’s stated priorities.

Shah said the objective was to ensure that no citizen of Punjab had to live in fear and that criminal networks faced firm action.
