Amit Shah Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Insulting PM Modi and ‘Chhathi Maiya’, Urges Bihar to Back NDA

Patna: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chhathi Maiya, and asserted that the people of Bihar would give a strong response to the Congress and the Grand Alliance in the upcoming Assembly elections.

“People of Bihar Will Reply on November 6 and 11”

Speaking at a public rally in Lakhisarai in support of BJP candidate and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Shah said:

“Rahul Gandhi, your workers insulted PM Modi’s mother, and you used abusive language against the Prime Minister. Now, you have insulted Chhathi Maiya. This is Bihar — and the people here will give a fitting reply to you and the Grand Alliance on November 6 and 11. When the ballots are opened on November 14, the alliance will be wiped out.”

Shah’s remarks came in response to Rahul Gandhi’s comments during a rally in Muzaffarpur, where the Congress leader had criticised Modi’s ‘symbolic Yamuna bath’ during Chhath Puja, calling it a “photo opportunity.” Gandhi said, “There was no Yamuna ji there — just a pond filled with clean water brought through pipes for Modi ji’s photo-op, while the real India bathes in polluted water.”

Attack on RJD and Congress Over ‘Jungle Raj’ and Corruption

Shah also targeted RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and the Congress, accusing them of ushering in an era of crime and corruption before 2005.

“Before 2005, Bihar was under jungle raj. Industries were shut down, businesses closed, and the only thriving trade was kidnapping and ransom. Murders and heinous crimes were rampant under Lalu and Rabri’s rule,” he said.

The Home Minister credited Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for bringing law and order and ushering in development after 2005.

“When you gave Nitish Kumar the mandate, he ended jungle raj and started a new era of progress. This time too, vote for the NDA — so that the foundation laid by Modi and Nitish can become a grand structure,” Shah urged.

    “NDA Stands for Clean Governance”

Shah accused the Opposition parties of large-scale corruption, claiming the RJD and Congress had been involved in scams worth thousands of crores.

“Lalu and Rabri committed scams in Bihar. The Congress looted Rs 12 lakh crore in ten years. These people can never do good for Bihar,” he alleged.

He contrasted this with what he described as clean governance under the NDA.

“Nitish Kumar has ruled for 20 years, and Narendra Modi for 11 years — not a single allegation of corruption. Every rupee goes toward the welfare of the poor,” Shah said.

    Women’s Empowerment and ‘Operation Sindoor’

Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to women’s safety and dignity, Shah referred to ‘Operation Sindoor’, which was launched after the Pahalgam terror attack.

“The vermilion of Lakhisarai is not just a symbol — it represents the good fortune and honour of our mothers and sisters. By naming the operation ‘Operation Sindoor,’ PM Modi enhanced the respect of women across the world,” he said.

Call to Support NDA for Bihar’s Growth

Concluding his speech, Shah appealed to voters to cast their ballots for the BJP and JD(U) alliance, calling it a vote for Bihar’s development and stability.

“When you press the button on the lotus and arrow symbols on November 6, remember — this vote is not just for an MLA or minister. Every vote is for developing Bihar under Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi and ending the rule of lawlessness,” Shah said.
