Amit Shah’s security lapse: Departmental action ordered against DSP and Inspector

The Haryana government has ordered departmental action against two police officers, DSP Paramjit Singh Samota and Inspector Prashant Kumar, in connection with the security lapse during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Hisar. An official letter to the Director General of Police has been issued by the Haryana Home Department to this effect.

The government stated in the order that action will be initiated against DSP Paramjit Singh Samota under Rule 7 of the Haryana Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 2016. The police department has been directed to immediately prepare a draft charge sheet and related documents and submit them to the government.

Departmental action against Inspector Prashant Kumar has been directed to be taken based on the inquiry committee’s report. The police department has been directed to initiate departmental action against Inspector Prashant at its own level and submit detailed information to the government.

Amit Shah had arrived at Agroha Medical College in Hisar on March 31st to unveil the statue of Maharaja Agrasen. A committee formed under the leadership of retired Justice H.S. Bhalla to investigate the security lapses in Shah’s case submitted its report to the state government in the first week of September 2025.

According to the report, the DSP and Inspector were posted at a highly sensitive area. Despite this, both were absent from duty.

According to the official, the inquiry committee formed in this case submitted a detailed report after conducting the investigation. There are orders to initiate departmental action against DSP Paramjit Singh Samota and Inspector Prashant Kumar for negligence in the line of duty and to inform the government.
