Amit Shah arrived in Kolkata earlier today and was received by Suvendu Adhikari and other senior BJP leaders at the airport. The meeting to elect the legislature party leader was held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre.

Adhikari, a former close aide of Mamata Banerjee who joined the BJP in 2020, is credited with strengthening the party’s grassroots presence, especially in rural areas.
