Amit Shah Slams Opposition, Warns Against Return of ‘Jungle Raj’ in Bihar

Patna, Bihar: On the final day of campaigning for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly election, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce attack on the RJD and Congress, accusing the Lalu-Rabri era government of plunging Bihar into “jungle raj.”

‘Modi-Nitish Freed Bihar from Naxalism’

Addressing a rally in Arwal, Shah said that Bihar was once plagued by Naxal violence and alleged that multiple massacres occurred during the 1990–2005 period.

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with ending the era of lawlessness and freeing the state from Naxalism.

“Arwal, which was earlier part of Jehanabad district, witnessed several massacres in that era,” Shah reminded the crowd.

‘Opposition Protects Infiltrators’

Targeting the Congress leadership, the Home Minister alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s recent yatra was aimed at protecting infiltrators.

He asserted that the NDA would identify and remove every infiltrator from both Bihar and the country.

“The Opposition treats infiltrators as a vote bank, whereas the NDA has the support of the youth and Lakhpati Didis,” Shah declared.

‘Congress Used Ambedkar’s Name for Votes’

Shah also accused the Congress of invoking Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s name merely for electoral gains.

He said the Congress failed to honour Ambedkar while in power, whereas the Modi government declared November 26 as Constitution Day and April 14 as National Harmony Day to pay true tribute to him.

Claims RJD-Congress ‘Wiped Out’ in First Phase

Referring to the first phase of polling, Shah claimed that “Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD and Rahul Gandhi’s Congress have already been wiped out from this election.”

He urged voters in Magadh not to repeat past mistakes.
“Even a small mistake could bring back jungle raj in Bihar,” he warned.

Promises to Empower Jeevika Didis

Highlighting the NDA government’s welfare initiatives, Shah said the Modi-Nitish administration had transferred ₹10,000 each into the bank accounts of 1.41 crore Jeevika Didis — women associated with the state’s self-help group (SHG) network.

He promised that if the NDA returned to power, another ₹2 lakh would be deposited in their accounts over the next two-and-a-half years.

Focus on Development Projects

Listing several development initiatives, Shah said the Modi government had:

• Revived the Barauni fertiliser plant and the Riga sugar mill,

• Set up two IT parks, and

• Begun construction of a textile park.

He added that the NDA planned to establish 25 new sugar mills across Bihar.

‘Left Parties Will Drive Away Industries’

Shah alleged that the CPI(ML) and other Left parties would “drive away industries” if they came to power.

Drawing a political analogy, he said, “All five NDA partners are fighting the election together like the five Pandavas, while the Mahagathbandhan is struggling with internal discord.”
