Amrita Rao celebrates 13 years of Jolly LLB

Mumbai: Actress Amrita Rao marked the 13th anniversary of the courtroom comedy Jolly LLB and described the film as “way ahead of its time.”

The 2013 film introduced Arshad Warsi as Advocate Jagdish Tyagi, also known as Jolly, and went on to become a popular courtroom drama among audiences.

Actress shares memories from the film

Taking to Instagram, Rao expressed gratitude for being part of a film that continues to hold a special place in the hearts of viewers. She said that after hearing the narration, she was confident the film was unique and ahead of its time.

Rao also shared that one of her favourite memories from the shoot was learning how to ride a scooty for her role as Sandhya, Jolly’s wife in the movie.

Successful franchise over the years

The film, directed by Subhash Kapoor and backed by Fox Star Studios, also featured Boman Irani and Saurabh Shukla in important roles. The story follows a young lawyer fighting for justice for six labourers who died in a road accident.

The film later became a successful franchise with Jolly LLB 2 starring Akshay Kumar in 2017. The third instalment, Jolly LLB 3, brought together both Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi.
